The Ultimate Green Smoothie with Guava and Ginger

The sky's the limit when it comes to smoothie combinations as you can throw any veggies, fruits, and protein powder of your choice in the blender. You don't always need to follow a recipe, but your smoothie should have the right balance of fruits, vegetables, and most importantly taste in order for your body to crave for this smoothie everyday.  By taste, don’t just pack the blender with fruits because smoothie will be packed in high sugar and calories.  Adding fresh ginger root to the smoothie will remove the dull vegetables taste, provide for that the pleasant tangy flavor that will jump start your day.  This Ultimate Green Smoothie is in my daily morning routine and is my recipe for healthy aging.  The ingredients below will make 3 large portions.  If you don’t have family members that enjoy this smoothie save the 2 portions for the following days.  Since I am saving 2 portions for the following days I don’t add flax seeds or any protein powder as they will tend to thicken the smoothie over time.  Reduce the ingredients below to one portion to add flax seeds, almonds, protein powder and other supplements that your body crave!.

Ingredients:

  • ½  cup yogurt

  • 1 to 2 cups baby spinach or kale

  • 1 whole English cucumbers, sliced

  • ½ or whole guava – use pear or green apple if you don’t have guava

  • ¼ cup of ginger, chopped

  • ½ cup of min

  • ½ of a lime

  • ~2 cups of water.

  • Optional – add frozen strawberry or pineapple if you want more sweet
